CHAD’S BUSINESS: OLD ARMY ART

Our wedding website

Happy New Years from Aggieland! We had a crazy 2021 with traveling, moving, and marriage. It looks like 2022 will have just as much excitement, so we can't wait to get started!
This week, we are celebrating the life of Jerry Stoermer, Chad's dad.

He was a badass fighter pilot and shared that love of flying with anyone who would listen.

He honorably served our country and encouraged the next generation to do the same.

He supported his kids and their ambitions even when he didn't quite understand them.

He helped us build our first house and taught us so many useful skills.

He was a great teacher and an advocate for both school and sports and served schools in some capacity up until his last year.

He was a great dad who modeled and taught servant-leadership and character as the most important and valuable things to work hard at.

He was welcoming. From my very first visit, I always felt at home at Jerry's house.

He was dearly loved and will be fiercely missed. Rest in peace Jer-Bear.
We are only 5 days away from the end of our trip and it is bittersweet.

We have both LOVED getting to travel the country, see so many cool places, visit so many galleries, and meet up with so many great people.

We are also both getting pretty tired of the constant up and downs and unknowns of life on the road. It will be good to be in one place for a while. With a shower. And a toilet that flushes. And a bed that comfortably fits two people. 😬

Next Monday, we are signing a 10 month lease for an apartment in College Station. We will be there for that time and then the next city is still very TBD. But for the curious cats out there, here is our short list of next places to live:

Bentonville, AR
Phoenix, AZ
Austin, TX
Denver, CO
Charleston, SC
Atlanta, GA
Orlando, FL
When our Sequoia visited the Sequoias.

You know how hard it is to share tall trees in a square post? I'm going to go share more in the stories.

We are grateful for the opportunity to visit some of our wonderful nation's parks but we are also glad that part of our trip is over.

We are officially now heading back east towards home. Chad will be revisiting some of the galleries he went to in the first loop to show them his latest art piece, but it will be a fast 10 days until home!
Chad liked Yosemite so much he kissed it. (Unsure on if that broke any park rules or not... )

Full of big rocks, trees, and waterfalls, but without the really steep and windy driving of Glacier, what's not to love?

*Not pictured was when we went body surfing down some rapids and sunbathing on rocks while staring at a waterfall. But we did get a few bruises and a tan as souvenirs.
Vineyards for days.

The Napa Valley is a beautiful little slice of the country and a place that Chad had really wanted to visit. Sonoma County on the other hand was kinda meh. Most of the good stuff is by Santa Rosa on that side. Just...for those planning future trips. :)
