Grand Canyon Hiking in the Time of COVID

The first day was truly beautiful and the second day was dreadfully terrible. They were both days we will never forget.

Why We Travel

We've talked to many people about our tiny home and our adventure around the country, and a frequent question we get is WHY? They think it sounds fun and cool, but often want to know why we are doing this thing- what prompted us to take this journey.

The Bedroom

In the original plans, our bed was going to be lofted above the couch with a wire & pulley system to lower it while sleeping. Sarah was not a huge fan of this arrangement, so we adjusted the course and landed with the layout you see today.

The Office

Chad worked hard to design an office that optimized performance. He wanted everything he would need within his reach when inspiration struck.

The Living Room

In Chad's original plans, the sleeping space was only going to be a twin size bed. When Sarah joined the process, Chad didn't want to change the size of the bed, so that meant there needed to be another space suitable for sleeping should we get sick of sharing a twin.

The Bathroom

We plan to outsource most of our bathroom needs, but we still required some essentials. So yes, sometimes we have to poop in a bucket.

The Kitchen

Our kitchen needed to be small but efficient. Just enough room to make essential food prep activities possible.

Welcome to the world little one.

Logan Christopher Stoermer was born on 8.9.22 measuring 8lbs 5oz and 21 inches.

All the nurses said he had big hands which is perfect because we wanted a male volleyball player in the family.

Postpartum healing is no joke, but we are grateful for a sweet baby boy that is making things pretty easy on us. He even burps himself 👌.

Welcome to the first chapter of your wonderful story, son! 💙
It's official! We are now residents of Bentonville, Arkansas. Our house isn't ready until September, so we are crashing with family right now, but it's great to be out of College Station 😅😅!

We will be open for visitors in the fall (or whenever Chad builds the Murphy bed in the office/guestroom)! If you're into hiking, kayaking, or mountain biking, it is definitely worth the trip!
Happy New Years from Aggieland! We had a crazy 2021 with traveling, moving, and marriage. It looks like 2022 will have just as much excitement, so we can't wait to get started!
This week, we are celebrating the life of Jerry Stoermer, Chad's dad.

He was a badass fighter pilot and shared that love of flying with anyone who would listen.

He honorably served our country and encouraged the next generation to do the same.

He supported his kids and their ambitions even when he didn't quite understand them.

He helped us build our first house and taught us so many useful skills.

He was a great teacher and an advocate for both school and sports and served schools in some capacity up until his last year.

He was a great dad who modeled and taught servant-leadership and character as the most important and valuable things to work hard at.

He was welcoming. From my very first visit, I always felt at home at Jerry's house.

He was dearly loved and will be fiercely missed. Rest in peace Jer-Bear.
We are only 5 days away from the end of our trip and it is bittersweet.

We have both LOVED getting to travel the country, see so many cool places, visit so many galleries, and meet up with so many great people.

We are also both getting pretty tired of the constant up and downs and unknowns of life on the road. It will be good to be in one place for a while. With a shower. And a toilet that flushes. And a bed that comfortably fits two people. 😬

Next Monday, we are signing a 10 month lease for an apartment in College Station. We will be there for that time and then the next city is still very TBD. But for the curious cats out there, here is our short list of next places to live:

Bentonville, AR
Phoenix, AZ
Austin, TX
Denver, CO
Charleston, SC
Atlanta, GA
Orlando, FL
When our Sequoia visited the Sequoias.

You know how hard it is to share tall trees in a square post? I'm going to go share more in the stories.

We are grateful for the opportunity to visit some of our wonderful nation's parks but we are also glad that part of our trip is over.

We are officially now heading back east towards home. Chad will be revisiting some of the galleries he went to in the first loop to show them his latest art piece, but it will be a fast 10 days until home!
